For nearly 60 years, J. K. Adams has manufactured wooden products of
exceptional quality in its factory in Dorset,
Vermont. We begin with the finest Northeastern kiln dried lumber and combine
function, aesthetics and manufacturing techniques to create products that last
a lifetime.
J.K. Adams has been designing, manufacturing and distributing wood products from
Dorset, Vermont since 1944. The company has always operated with a simple code
of conduct. Painted on large signs that hang from the factory ceilling are three
short phrases:

These guidelines, combined with an insistence on treating employees, customers,
and vendors with complete honesty, respect, and fairness sums up the way
we do business. The number of customers and employees who have remained
loyal to J.K. Adams for over 40 years is testimony to the fact that our
approach works.
Our finished products require cutting down live trees. We are very aware
that our short and long term existence depends on maintaining and improving
the health of the North American hardwood forests. We use lumber that is
selectively harvested from managed forests where the trees are cut to make
room for more trees to grow, not unlike thinning a garden.
Foresters in Colonial times combed the hills of New England looking for the
healthiest, straightest trees to be used as ship masts for the King's Royal
Navy. A simple arrow figure was chopped into the bark of the finest trees thus
saving them for the Crown. J.K. Adams proudly uses the broad arrow as our logo,
indicating we too, use the best wood in New England for our exceptional products.
J.K. Adams supports the products we make with our "best-in-the-business" 5-year
guarantee. If a product does not live up to expectations in material or workmanship
for five years, we will replace it. Selected items are certified by NSF, which
is accepted as the ultimate endorsement of sanitary, food safe products.
