Just lay it on the grate when you fire up your grill, brush with a little oil and it will heat up quickly and retain its heat. The clean-up is the best part: the Grill Stone naturally cleans itself in the heat of the fire. Simply flip the stone over prior to the next use and let the fire clean your grill stone for you.

Drizzle a little bit of canola oil on the grillstone when hot prior to cooking on it.
After you are done cooking scrape off anything that is left.
When the grillstone has cooled off flip over.
The fire will clean the grillstone the next time you turn on your grill.
