Description

Our Tech Classic maple prep board has long been the choice of professionals and serious home cooks who know that a sturdy, well-crafted board is all you need to complete a myriad of kitchen tasks like slicing, dicing, chopping and even serving. When considering improvements for the Tech Classic 2.0, we had an "aha!" moment and added a tech slot to our two largest sizes - it's the perfect place to display your smart phone or tablet for viewing online recipes or streaming the latest episode of The Great British Baking Show. Crafted in Vermont of beautiful, durable hard rock maple, this 1" thick board offers greater stability and is reversible: prep on one side, serve on the other! Available in three different sizes (small size does not have a tech slot).

Care + Use

Wood is an incredible natural material that expands and contracts with moisture and humidity. Regular regimented care of this product will protect it for years to come.

Handwash with warm, soapy water after each use and dry thoroughly with a towel. Never soak or submerge in water, run in a dishwasher, or use in a microwave. Placing hot pots or pans on your board can result in a lasting burn mark.

Apply JK Adams Mineral Oil and / or Beeswax Wood Conditioner once a week, with a lint free cloth, to all surfaces-including edges and ends-until the finish is established, and at any time the board feels dry.

If at any time the grain of your product becomes raised-causing a rough feeling-a light buffing in the affected area with 200 grit sandpaper will smooth the finish. Reapply JK Adams wood conditioner after this process

Wood Type: Maple is a forgiving hardwood. Grain variation is to be expected. It is recommended to use our conditioners at any time the product feels dry.

Why Wood?

In contrast to plastic, composite, or even glass cutting boards, wood is a natural and renewable material that is innately anti-microbial. Wood is able to naturally dry, and further kill bacteria, while other materials can harbor and encourage bacterial growth.
