A Commitment To Sustainability...Sustainability is one of JK Adams' founding principles, and it remains one of the company's core missions. We use Maple, Ash, Cherry and Walnut woods that grow in abundance in the United States and Canada to produce our line of high-quality cutting boards, serving trays, storage pieces, rolling pins, and wine racks. These durable hardwoods provide us with a reliable and renewable source of raw material that is beautiful and sustainably grown and harvested. The wood is the perfect medium for our craftspeople to work with and for you and your family to enjoy now and for generations to come.
Cleaning and Care Instructions:JK Adams products are built to last for generations, and they will, with proper use and regular care. Please read our instructions, below, on how to clean and care for your J.K. Adams product.
CARE + USE
Wood is an incredible natural material that expands and contracts with moisture and humidity. Regular regimented care of this product will protect it for years to come.
Handwash with warm, soapy water after each use and dry thoroughly with a towel. Never soak or submerge in water, run in a dishwasher, or use in a microwave. Placing hot pots or pans on your board can result in a lasting burn mark.
Apply JK Adams Mineral Oil and / or Beeswax Wood Conditioner once a week, with a lint free cloth, to all surfaces--including edges and ends--until the finish is established, and at any time the board feels dry.
If at any time the grain of your product becomes raised--causing a rough feeling--a light buffing in the affected area with 200 grit sandpaper will smooth the finish. Reapply JK Adams wood conditioner after this process
SLATE PRODUCTS:CARE + USE
Wash in warm soapy water immediately after each use and dry thoroughly. Do not use as a cutting board--Slate will dull your knife, and has the potential to split and crack with applied pressure.
Slate is a natural stone, so some acids and alkaline cleaners may etch its surface. Your slate arrives to you pre-sealed with a food safe stone sealer.
